Born and raised in the shadow of WSM’s iconic tower, David Reed grew up listening to the legendary voices of the Air Castle of the South—dreaming of the day he’d stand beneath the Grand Ole Opry curtain, helping share country music with the world.
He got his start in country radio right here in Music City and went on to become a familiar voice in Nashville sports broadcasting for over 25 years. Today, David has come full circle—back to his roots—spinning the songs that shaped his life and living out his lifelong dream on WSM.
David and his wife, Christy, got engaged at an Opry show. When he’s not behind the mic, you’ll find them chasing live music, soaking in bluegrass festivals, giving back to their community, or exploring Tennessee’s scenic backroads and small towns with their two dogs, Arvi and Katsu.
